Meet Divya: Your Mumbai Newborn & Maternity Photographer
Hi, I am Divya! A mom of two and the face behind the lens. I believe every session should feel like a warm, fun hug, not a stiff photoshoot.
This was me getting into the festive spirit for Janmashtami! My love for our culture and festivals often inspires my photography themes. I believe that passion shows in the final pictures.
Just me, playing around and checking the studio lighting before a client arrives. Getting the light just right is so important for creating those soft, beautiful baby portraits. This is a little behind the scenes peek at my process.
A little reminder for myself and for all you amazing people out there. Believing in yourself is the first step to creating magic, whether it's in photography or in life!
Sometimes I just need to unwind, and playing the piano is my go to. It’s just a fun hobby, but this creative side of me helps me think of new ideas for my photoshoots too.
I was so lucky to meet my business mentor, Falguni Kharwa. I am always trying to learn and grow, not just as an artist but as a professional, to make sure I give my clients the best experience possible.
About Meet Your Photographer, Divya!
Shooting newborns is all about patience, yaar. Whether we are doing a 'Little Krishna' setup or a simple bean bag pose, I never rush. We take as many feeding and cuddle breaks as your baby needs because a happy, calm baby makes for the best photos, not a stressed one.
Photography for me isn't just about clicking a button. It is about freezing those fleeting moments that vanish before we even realize they have happened. Being a mom to two drama queens myself, I know the drill. I know that toddlers have their own agendas and newborns are the boss of the room. My studio in Kurla is built around that reality. It is a space designed for comfort, safety, and a whole lot of patience.
When we do a newborn shoot, whether it is one of my signature festival-themed sessions or a clean, minimalist bean bag session, safety is the number one rule. I am trained in handling delicate babies, and I never force a pose. If your little one needs a feed, a diaper change, or just some mummy-time, we pause. Always.
I do not believe in stiff, formal photography. I like things natural, bubbly, and full of life. My style is a mix of planned setups with soft props and those raw, candid moments where you see the real connection. If you are looking for someone who understands that a photoshoot might get a little messy—and that it is okay because that is where the real fun is—then we will get along just fine. Let's make some memories that look like your family, not a magazine.
