Why Cable Quality Actually Matters

Many clients spend lakhs on a high-end projector and speaker system, then use a cheap, unshielded HDMI cable from the local hardware shop. It creates a bottleneck. If the cable cannot handle the bandwidth required for 4K HDR, your expensive projector is effectively downscaled.

The Optical Advantage

When we do custom installations across Delhi and Gurgaon, I insist on optical HDMI for runs over 10 meters. Unlike copper, which is susceptible to electromagnetic interference from power lines inside your walls, optical fiber is immune to it.

A few things to keep in mind during installation:

• Direction Matters: These cables are strictly directional. One end goes to the 'Source' (your receiver or player) and the other to the 'Display' (projector or TV). Getting this backward during a permanent wall-mount installation is a mistake you don't want to make.
• Bend Radius: While they are robust, optical cables are not flexible in the same way as standard copper. We plan the conduit paths carefully so we don't kink the cable inside your wall.
• Future Proofing: I recommend 8K-ready cables even if you are currently using a 4K setup. It ensures that when you upgrade your projector in three years, you won't need to replace the wiring hidden inside your walls.
