Garden Softscaping & Renovation
Scope of Work
- Site Clearance: Removal of weeds, dead turf, and debris to create a clean base.
- Soil Preparation: Rototilling existing earth and mixing with organic manure and red soil for root health.
- Grading: Leveling the area to manage water runoff away from foundations.
Planting & Materials
- Shrubs: Supply and planting of 25 to 30 medium-sized hardy shrubs like Hydrangeas or Ficus.
- Feature Plants: Inclusion of 1 to 2 focal point plants or small ornamental trees.
- Ground Cover: Planting of seasonal flowering plants or evergreens along borders.
- Mulching: Application of a 2 to 3 inch layer of hardwood mulch or river pebbles.
Execution
- Edging: Hand-cut natural edging or spade-cut borders to separate lawn from beds.
- Clean Up: Washing of adjacent hardscapes including driveways and walkways.
- Fertilizer: Application of slow-release root starter.
Paver Patio & Stone Fire Pit
Structural Base
- Excavation: Mechanical digging to a depth of 6 to 8 inches.
- Sub-Base: Installation of a 4-inch compacted aggregate base followed by a 1-inch sand setting bed.
- Drainage: Slope management to prevent water pooling on the surface.
Paver Installation
- Material: High-density concrete pavers (Interlocking or Cobble-style) in earth tones.
- Pattern: Custom layout (Circular, Herringbone, or Basketweave) with contrasting border stones.
- Jointing: Application of polymeric sand to lock pavers and block weed growth.
Fire Pit Feature
- Structure: One round or square wood-burning fire pit (3 to 4 ft diameter).
- Finish: Lined with heat-resistant fire bricks and faced with decorative stone veneer.
- Coping: Topped with a natural stone or concrete cap.
Natural Rock Pond & Waterfall
Core Components
- Liner System: Heavy-duty, fish-safe 45 mil EPDM rubber liner with protective underlayment.
- Filtration: Mechanical skimmer for debris and a biological waterfall filter for water clarity.
- Pump: Submersible pump sized for specific water volume and head height.
Hardscaping
- Natural Stone: River boulders and granite rocks used to conceal all liner materials.
- Waterfall: Construction of a 1 to 2 ft cascade using flat rocks.
- Gravel Bed: River pebbles covering the bottom to support beneficial bacteria.
Finishes
- Aquatic Planting: Stocking of water lilies and marginal plants.
- Edge Treatment: Rocking of edges to transition naturally into the garden bed.
- Testing: 24-hour leak observation period before handover.

I see landscaping as more than just planting stuff - to me, it’s like decorating the outdoors. I’ve been doing this since 1984, mostly around central Ohio, and I still get a kick out of seeing a plain yard turn into something you actually want to spend time in.

- I design and install landscapes for both new builds and older homes that need a refresh.
- New homes get the full treatment - I’ll help plan everything from walkways to that first tree you want the family to remember.
- If your yard’s just… blah, I handle custom landscape renovation, from a quick spruce-up to a full teardown and rebuild.
How I Build Your Space
- Thoughtful planting - picking trees, shrubs, and flowers that fit the space and give you privacy or color where you want it.
- Clean garden beds with mulch that keeps things tidy and helps plants out.
- I also do outdoor living space design for patios, walkways, stone fire pits, retaining walls, even ponds or a small waterfall if you want that peaceful vibe.

My Story
Hey, we’re Landscape Inc. Been around since ’84, right here in central Ohio. We’ve spent decades digging, planting, mowing – you name it. Got a kick out of turning boring yards into something folks actually want to hang out in. That ‘business of the month’ thing at Fidelity Federal? Yeah, that was cool, but honestly, seeing a plain backyard become a real outdoor living space is what keeps us going.
