About Starter Hens for Your Flock
When I help rehome these birds, I ensure they are healthy and ready for a new coop. You need to bring your own ventilated boxes or crates for the transport, and I will meet you at a designated spot in Delhi to get them handed over safely.
Adding a backyard flock is a commitment. You are trading feed and daily care for fresh eggs and a team that helps manage your kitchen scraps. When I step in to help rehome hens, I look for homes where these birds will actually get the space they need.
You will typically find a mixed bag here. You might see Ameraucana, Barred Rocks, or other hardy breeds. This variety is a benefit if you want a mix of egg colors in your basket. Since these birds are often being rehomed from other setups, I do not always have the exact age for every hen. They are, however, laying-age birds.
Logistics in Delhi are simple but they require planning. You must show up with your own sturdy boxes or crates. I will meet you at our designated pickup point. We keep our distance, you get your birds, and they get a fresh start. If you are in Delaware or Otsego County and want to stop relying on store-bought eggs, let us talk about getting you set up.
