About Farm Fresh Products
Still Going, One Day at a Time
Running a small farm isn’t glamorous. I’m Maria, and after shutting down our food waste service (big headaches with permits), the farm side of Paradise in Disguise is still alive. Every day’s a bit of a scramble, but I keep going because the mission matters—turning waste into something good for the land and for you.
What You’ll Find Here
- Garden Gold Compost: My chickens do half the work, scratching and mixing food scraps, leaves, hay, sawdust, and manures into a rich, aged blend. I sift it by hand (honestly, the sifter saga is wild), and it’s ready for your garden beds, pots, or seed starts. Not your average “organic compost for gardens”—it’s weirdly satisfying to see how dark and fluffy it gets.
- Happy, Pasture-Raised Chickens: I raise Cornish Cross and Red Broilers out on grass, not crammed in little tractors. Birds get sun, bugs, and space. If you’re after “pasture-raised chicken near me” in Delaware or Otsego County, I keep a list for each batch.
- Fresh Eggs: Mixed flock means you get brown, white, and green eggs. Sometimes there’s a flash sale if hens go into overdrive. “Fresh farm eggs Delaware”—that’s literally what I do.
- Starter Hens (When Available): Occasionally I help rehome laying hens if you want to start your own flock.

My Story
So, here’s the real story. I got hooked on composting after reading about some folks up in Vermont. Next thing, my brother Joel and I were knee-deep in food scraps right here in Delhi. Just to be clear, he’s my brother, not my husband—newspapers got that wrong once! We grew too quick, neighbors got cranky, rats showed up, and the town shut us down. Still, we’re not giving up. For now, we’re selling compost and eggs, keeping the dream alive. #foodwastewarrior, always.
