My Creative Process and Inspirations

Art for me is a dialogue between technology and faith. Here is a look at what fuels my work—the places, quiet moments, and creative routines that shape every illustration I hand-draw.

A photo of the Golden Temple in Amritsar. This sacred place is a constant source of peace and spiritual inspiration for me, and its tranquility often finds its way into my art.

A self-portrait taken during a moment of quiet reflection in nature. Finding peace in simple surroundings helps me recharge my creativity and connect with my inner artist.

A playful animation I created, showing a sketch coming to life with color. These short, creative exercises are a fun way for me to experiment with my digital tools.

About this collection

Everything you see starts on my iPad in Procreate. I do not use filters or AI generation to rush the process; every brushstroke is hand-drawn, capturing the specific texture and warmth you see in my final pieces. Whether it is a portrait study or a complex family scene, the technique remains the same—slow, intentional, and focused on the story you have shared with me.

My creative process is deeply rooted in the concept of 'Ik Onkar'—the idea that there is one divine light in all. This belief guides how I approach every commission, from individual portraits to large ceremonial art. Living in Delhi provides the city energy that often balances the quiet, meditative state I enter while drawing.

The Digital Sketchbook

Most of my work begins as a digital sketch. I enjoy the 'Thhaa-Thhaa' process—the transition from a raw, pencil-textured outline to a finished, colored piece. This approach allows me to keep the raw human emotion of a scene intact. When I work on couple portraits or family illustrations, I focus on capturing the 'real stuff'—a shared chai break, a specific look, or a cultural marker—rather than making it look overly polished or corporate.

Why Hand-Drawn Matters

Because I create everything from scratch using Procreate, we can iterate easily. If a facial expression or a cultural detail like a Dastar or jewelry placement needs a tweak, I can adjust it during the sketch phase. This manual process ensures that the final high-resolution JPEG or PNG you receive is not just an image, but a hand-crafted piece of digital art.

I offer three distinct tiers of work:

  • Minimalist Single-Subject Portrait: Ideal for focused, expressive captures.
  • Signature Narrative Illustration: Best for couples or families where we need to build a scene, like a picnic or living room setting.
  • Ceremonial & Large Group Art: Detailed, cinematic artwork for weddings or religious events that requires intricate architectural and cultural accuracy.

If you have a story, a memory, or a Sikh-inspired concept you want to bring to life, let’s talk about how we can make it a reality.
