Dania's Hairstyling Journey & Professional Portfolio
From runway moments at Lakme Fashion Week to the heart of my Kolkata studio, this is the story behind the craft and the professional standards I bring to every client.
This reel tells my story. It started with "Log kya kahenge?" and now it's "My daughter is a hair artist who also trains students." I feel like I've won in life when I see my mom so proud of my work.
I had the amazing opportunity to assist with Shraddha Kapoor's hair for Lakme Fashion Week. She is such a sweet person, and being a part of this experience was a dream come true.
The final result on the runway. Here is Shraddha Kapoor walking for KALKI at Lakme Fashion Week, showcasing the long, flowing hairstyle I assisted on.
This is for all the artists out there. We face struggles and off-seasons, but our love for what we do keeps us going. I love my job because it gives me creative joy and financial freedom.
A quick get-ready-with-me video showing my personal style. It's fun to be on the other side of the chair sometimes.
My hair has a personality of its own. Some days it's meh, and some days it's amazing. Embracing my natural waves is a journey.
A little transformation video from a casual look to getting ready for a wedding. I did my own hair and makeup for my friend's special day.
About My Journey & High-Profile Work
People often see the finished look, but the path here involved a lot of 'log kya kahenge' (what will people say) moments before I reached stages like Lakme Fashion Week. Whether you are looking for a stylist for your big day or considering a career in hair, my process is built on that same grit—finding what works for your specific hair texture and face shape, rather than just following trends blindly.
My journey into professional hairstyling was never a straight line. It started with curiosity and a deep passion for hair texture, eventually leading me to train with the best and work events like Lakme Fashion Week. When I worked with Shraddha Kapoor for the runway, it wasn't just about the glamour—it was about the precision required to ensure the style held up perfectly under studio lights and on the ramp.
I bring this same technical rigour to every client I meet at my studio in Palm Avenue. I believe that understanding hair science is non-negotiable. If you come to me for a bridal look, we don't just pick a photo off Pinterest. We discuss whether your hair is fine, frizzy, or heavy, and what will actually last through your sangeet or wedding ceremony.
For aspiring hairstylists, I’ve structured my training courses to be as real as my own experience. We focus on:
- Practical Skills: Managing frizz, proper heat tool usage, and creating extensions that look seamless.
- Professional Ethics: Why punctuality and mutual respect between artist and client are the foundation of this business.
- Artistic Growth: Learning to create unique, custom accessories and hairstyles that actually suit the face shape of the person sitting in the chair.
Whether you are a bride-to-be wanting a stress-free experience or a student wanting to build a professional career, my space is where we turn that vision into reality.
