Our Compassionate Community of Rescuers
We believe compassion is a team effort. From dedicated local caregivers to corporate volunteers, our work is only possible because people show up every day for animals who have no voice of their own.
Ms. Mookambika has been a rescuer for over a decade and has worked with us since 2007, bringing in over 500 animals for neutering and treatment. Her story is an inspiration and highlights the vital role community caregivers play.
We were thrilled to have volunteers from Goldman Sachs visit our senior dogs. They spent the day grooming, cuddling, and even helping with infrared therapy sessions for joint pain. This is what community support looks like.
Sometimes, a picture says it all. This happy, smiling dog at our shelter is the perfect representation of the joy and safety we strive to provide for every animal that comes through our doors.
About this collection
Our work relies on the frontline efforts of individuals like Ms. Mookambika, who has partnered with us since 2007 to get over 500 animals neutered and treated. It is this synergy between professional veterinary care and dedicated community caregivers that allows us to manage high-volume rescue and trauma cases across Bangalore every single day.
Our community is the heartbeat of CUPA. When you look at our work, you are seeing the result of decades of collaboration rather than just individual effort.
The Caregiver Connection
We rely heavily on local rescuers. Take Ms. Mookambika, for example. She has been a fixture in our rescue network since 2007. By acting as the bridge between street animals in distress and our clinical facilities, she has helped us manage over 500 spay-neuter and treatment cases. These caregivers are our eyes and ears on the ground, ensuring we can intervene before a situation becomes critical.
Corporate and Community Support
It is not just about individual rescues. We regularly host corporate teams, such as the Goldman Sachs volunteers, who provide hands-on help for our senior dogs. From assisting with infrared therapy for joint pain to simple grooming and socialization, these volunteers provide the love and attention that our clinical staff, while busy with surgeries and trauma, cannot always dedicate one-on-one.
Why We Do This
Every interaction, from a volunteer cuddle to a complex tumor surgery, is a step towards our goal of a country where every animal is protected. If you have the time to volunteer, the passion to rescue, or a pet in need of care, you are part of this ecosystem. We operate out of our RT Nagar hospital and various outreach locations, keeping our emergency services accessible to those who need them most.
Cupa
We are CUPA. For 34 years, we have operated on the principle that compassion is action. We are a collective of vets, volunteers, and local caregivers fighting for every animal's second chance in Bangalore.
