Rescue and Trauma Recovery Stories
Every photo here is a testament to the resilience of Bangalore’s community dogs. When you choose our hospital for your own pet, you directly fund this lifesaving trauma care.
This community dog was brought to our Trauma Centre with a huge mass on her hind leg. This is her story of rescue and recovery, starting with the initial diagnosis.
The growing tumor was causing her constant pain and discomfort, making it difficult to walk or even sleep. The size and severity of the growth required immediate surgical intervention.
Here you can see the large tumor from different angles before the surgery. Our veterinary surgeons assessed the situation to plan for a complete and safe removal.
Post-surgery, the tumor was successfully removed, but the leg unfortunately had to be amputated. She is shown here resting and beginning her healing process in our in-patient facility.
This is Pandu, a community dog who came to us with a 2.15 kg tumor growing under his belly. The mass caused him immense pain and made simple movements a struggle.
A closer look at the massive tumor before surgery. Our vets confirmed the diagnosis and prepared him for the procedure that would give him his life back.
This graphic image shows the actual tumor after it was surgically removed at our Trauma Centre. Its removal was a critical step in relieving Pandu's suffering.
About this collection
We operate our trauma center as a triage unit for Bangalore’s most critical street animal cases. Because our patients often arrive with severe, long-term neglect—ranging from necrotic maggot wounds to complex tumors—our surgical priority is always immediate stabilization and pain relief rather than aesthetic outcomes.
For over 34 years, our reality has been the frontlines of animal welfare in Bangalore. This cluster showcases what we call 'Trauma to Triumph'—the actual process of taking an animal from a state of crisis to recovery.
When a dog arrives at our trauma center, they are often in advanced pain. Whether it is a crushed limb from a road accident, a tumor that has grown to a debilitating weight, or a severe infection, our approach relies on rapid diagnostics followed by decisive surgical intervention. We use in-house digital X-rays and blood profiling to understand the extent of internal damage before we ever make an incision.
What you see in these photos is the result of that specific process. We don't just treat the wound; we manage the animal's recovery, from initial sedation and surgery to post-operative pain management and wound dressing. It is messy, difficult, and expensive work.
This is why your decision to use our hospital for your own pet matters. Every routine vaccination, blood test, or grooming session at our specialty hospital feeds directly into this trauma program. You are not just paying for a service; you are sustaining the equipment and the hands that perform these surgeries for community doggos who have nobody else.
