Still Life Canvas Paintings
Painting is my form of play. I capture simple objects like fresh orchids, vibrant fruit, and classic teapots to bring a warm, artistic touch to your home.
A finished still life painting featuring vibrant pink orchids in a reflective blue vase, set against a soft, blended background. This piece is a celebration of color and light.
Here is the orchid painting framed and displayed on a wall. Seeing my art in a home setting is the best feeling, as it shows how a simple painting can transform a space.
A short video showcasing the completed orchid and shell painting. I love the contrast between the delicate flowers and the rustic texture of the shell and wooden block.
This video shows the progression of my orchid painting, from the initial sketch to the fully rendered vase and background, before the flowers are even added.
It's all in the details. This clip shows me adding the subtle white highlights to the vase, which is what creates the realistic, glossy effect.
A behind the scenes look at my color palette for the orchid painting. Mixing the right shades of brown, grey, and white is key to creating realistic textures for the wood and cloth.
The finished painting of a little bird on a teapot, created on a circular canvas. I aimed for a warm, cozy feeling, capturing the light hitting the side of the kettle.
An in-progress shot of the teapot painting. Here, the kettle is fully rendered, and you can see the faint outline where the bird will soon be painted.
A glimpse of my process, showing my hand and palette as I add layers of color to the teapot painting. It's a slow, meditative process of building up shades.
This is the final version of my magnolia still life painting. I love the contrast between the soft, delicate petals and the bold purple background.
About Still Life Canvas Paintings
I do not rely on fancy or expensive materials for my art. Instead, I focus entirely on patience, hand control, and how natural light interacts with everyday subjects like a fresh red apple, a teacup, or a magnolia bloom. Each painting is an exercise in mindfulness, and I believe an artwork created with heart holds much more value than one made with costly supplies. 💫
My Artistic Process
For me, painting is not about the price of the tube of paint. It is about the connection I feel with the canvas. When I start a piece, I often begin with a monochrome underpainting. This helps me establish the light, shadows, and overall depth before I even think about color. It is a slow, meditative journey of building up layers—first the base, then the textures, and finally the tiny white highlights that give an object its realistic, glossy finish. 👼🏻
Why Still Life
I find a unique kind of happiness in the objects people might walk past every day. There is so much beauty in the curve of a vase, the reflection on a petal, or the way sunlight falls on a piece of fruit in the morning. Whether I am working on a traditional rectangular canvas or a modern circular board, my goal is to capture that specific 'happy feeling' and bring it into your living space. ❤️
Materials and Care
- Canvas: I use medium-grain, gallery-wrapped cotton canvas or high-quality circular boards, which are primed and ready to hang.
- Paints: I use artist-grade acrylics for their vibrancy and quick-drying nature.
- Protection: Every piece is finished with a UV-protective varnish, either in gloss or satin, to keep your art dust-free and prevent fading over time.
I believe art should bring a smile to your face. If you have a specific object or moment you want to preserve on canvas, let’s talk about it. 🧿
