Creating these pieces involves a complex balance between whipped soy wax for textures and clear gel wax for liquid effects, which is why we often spend days planning a single mould before we start. This testing phase ensures the final candle holds its shape and looks as delicious as it smells, serving as a standout centrepiece long before you even strike a match.
Our whimsical collection is where we let our creativity run free, but getting these shapes right requires a specific technical approach. When making our dessert-inspired candles, like the cappuccino cups or strawberry jam pots, we use a denser soy wax to hold the 'whipped' peaks and intricate details without melting instantly at room temperature.
For our cocktail series—including the Pina Colada and 'On the Rocks' whiskey glasses—we switch to a high-clarity gel wax. This allows us to suspend wax 'ice cubes' or fruit slices inside the glass, giving it that authentic beverage look.
Because these are highly detailed, handmade soy wax candles and gel wax designs, we recommend keeping them away from direct heat sources to maintain the finish.
