Inside My Nail Studio: The Colorcoatss Journey
I started Colorcoatss as a small bedroom dream at 18. Now, at 22, my Mulund West studio is my absolute happy place. Come see how I built this space from scratch.
I still get emotional watching this. This video shows the transformation of my studio from an empty space to a fully functional salon and academy. It’s proof that with hard work, a dream can become a reality.
This is where it all began: a small corner in my house with a few supplies. I want to show you that you don't need a massive setup to start; you just need passion and the right skills, which I am here to teach you.
People often suggest taking a more traditional career path, but I chose to follow my passion for nail art and build my own business. I hope my story inspires you to pursue what you love, and I'm here to help you get started.
Seeing my first nail set compared to my recent work shows the power of practice and learning. My journey of improvement is something I share openly to show my students what is possible with dedication.
About From a Dream to My Own Studio
My studio isn't just a place to get nails done, it is where I spend most of my time, so I keep the vibe low-key and comfortable. Whether you are coming in for a masterclass or a set of extensions, expect to have TMKOC playing on the screen, snacks on the side, and a genuinely relaxed atmosphere. I treat every appointment like a therapy session because my clients are basically family.
Building this studio was not a smooth road, but it was worth every 'polish spill' and sleepless night. I started at 18 with just a small nail kit in a corner of my room, learning the hard way what worked and what didn't. When I finally opened the doors to my current salon in Mulund West, my goal was simple: to create a space that feels like a home, not a sterile clinic.
Why the Studio Vibe Matters
Nail art requires focus, but the experience should not feel stiff. I want my students and clients to feel like they are just hanging out with a friend. That is why I prioritize:
- Real Comfort: No rush, no stress. If we are running a class, we take breaks, we grab a drink, and we actually talk through the technique instead of just watching a video.
- Transparent Learning: When I teach, I show you everything, including the mistakes I made along the way. You get access to the same professional tools I use daily, from my UV lamps to the drills.
- Safe Space: Whether you are an aspiring nail tech or a client looking for a new set, I want this to be the place you look forward to visiting.
I am still at the studio every day, constantly testing new trends and products. If you are here, you are likely part of the Colorcoatss journey, and I am so grateful to have you.
