Overcoming Injury and Rebuilding Strength

Fitness is not just about perfect form; it is about what you do when your body breaks. I didn’t just recover from a shattered arm and herniated discs—I rebuilt my physique to be stronger than before.

This is the evidence of my hardest battle. From an X-ray of a broken arm to the surgical scar, and finally, to a physique that defied the odds. This journey taught me everything I know about resilience and smart recovery, principles I now use to coach my clients.

This 200kg deadlift is a milestone. After a severe back injury years ago, I was told to be cautious. I chose to be smart instead. This video shows my return to heavy lifting, a process of careful progression and listening to my body that I teach all my athletes.

This is the back that was rebuilt. Every muscle fiber you see was earned through years of careful, intense training post-injury. This rear double bicep pose shows the detail and thickness that is possible even after significant setbacks.

A full back spread showcasing the width and density achieved after recovering from a debilitating disc herniation. This physique is not just built on weights, but on an unbreakable will to overcome.

Maintaining leg development with multiple knee and back injuries is a constant challenge. These poses show the leg musculature I've managed to build and maintain through intelligent training, proving that pain doesn't have to be a permanent stop sign.

About this collection

If you are training around a chronic injury, the standard textbook approach will likely fail you. When I coach clients, we do not just 'work through the pain'; we adjust your biomechanics and focus on recovery-centric hypertrophy. I teach you how to load the muscle without stressing the compromised joint, just as I have done with my own L4-S1 disc issues and arm trauma.

Training with Limitations

Many people stop training the moment a doctor mentions an ache or a minor injury. I spent years bedridden due to disc herniation in my L4, L5, and S1 vertebrae, and I carried a broken radius bone with surgical rods and screws in my arm. I know the mental struggle of wanting to lift but feeling trapped by your own body.

My Approach to Recovery

My injury management philosophy is simple: you do not need to quit lifting, you need to learn to lift intelligently.

  • Form First: If your form breaks down because of an old injury, we stop. We rebuild your range of motion from scratch.
  • Load Management: We use smart programming to build density in the muscle surrounding the joint, which acts as a protective shield.
  • Progressive Overload: Recovery is a linear process. My return to a 200kg deadlift after years of back issues was not luck; it was a slow, calculated progression. I apply this same data-driven methodology to your routine.

Where We Train

I provide 1:1 in-person training at Cult Gym in HSR Layout, Bengaluru, and online coaching for athletes globally. Whether you are dealing with knee issues, past surgeries, or lower back pain, my goal is to help you find your strength in the pain. You do not need a perfect body to start. You need a perfect plan to work around what you have.

I’m Abhinay. People call me 'the Beast', but that title was earned through metal rods in my arm and years of fighting through disc pain, not just genetics. I coach people who have been told they are too damaged to train, proving that with the right plan, your recovery is your greatest strength.
