About DIY Inspiration: Build Your Own World

When placing your miniatures, consider the scale. Our clay pieces, ranging from 2cm to 5cm, are finished with a water-resistant varnish, so they stay durable even in humid terrariums. Try to create a sense of scale. A single ladybug by a mossy path often tells a more compelling story than a crowded garden.

Building a miniature world is less about perfection and more about the feeling it gives you when you look at it. We believe in the slow process. Sculpting without molds means every mushroom, birdhouse, or tiny bench has its own personality, exactly like the ones you would find in nature.

To build your own story:

  1. Start with a base. Whether it is a standard succulent pot or an empty glass jar, fill it with well-draining soil and a layer of pebbles or moss. This creates the terrain for your scene.

  2. Place your anchors. Use slightly larger pieces, like our fairy houses or bridges, to create a focal point.

  3. Add the details. Tuck in the smaller accessories, such as ladybugs, bees, or tiny garden stakes, near the edges of your path or around the base of your plants. This layering creates depth and makes the setup look lived-in.

If you are using our garden stakes, ensure the metal wire is firmly embedded in the soil so the character stands securely. For our surface sitters, a flat base makes them perfect for mossy or pebble surfaces. Remember, there is no right or wrong way to do this. Your garden is an extension of your own taste, so mix and match pieces until it feels like home.
