About Fabric & Texture Showcase
Working with velvet and organza requires a different hand than traditional silk. For our velvet pieces, we use a specific reinforced lining technique so the fabric does not sag under the weight of the zardosi embroidery, and for our net panels, we ensure the stitch is invisible to keep that clean, airy look you see in the gallery.
Every fabric tells a different story, and the technique we use to stitch it must respect that. When working with Kanchipuram silk, we prioritize preserving the structure of the zari borders while ensuring the blouse fit is comfortable for long wedding ceremonies.
Handling Modern Textiles
We love playing with contrast. If you bring a delicate net or organza saree, we often pair it with a heavier velvet or crepe blouse base. This contrast adds depth to your overall look. Our studio in Nelamangala is equipped to handle complex fabrics like:
- Velvet: We manage the pile and weight so that heavy hand embroidery stays sharp without distorting the fabric.
- Organza & Net: We focus on internal finishing. Because these fabrics are sheer, our seams and piping must be pristine, as everything is visible through the material.
- Silk Crepe: We use specialized patterns to drape this fabric properly, ensuring it hugs the body without bunching.
The Role of Embroidery
Embroidery is not just about the design, it is about how it interacts with the base fabric. Whether it is Aari or Zardosi, we adjust our needle tension and thread loading based on the fabric density. We make sure that beads and sequins do not pull or tear delicate materials. If you have a specific vision or a piece of fabric you love, bring it to the studio. We can discuss how to enhance its natural texture with the right embroidery placement.
