Master the Fundamentals: Essential Shooting Techniques
Precision shooting is not about luck. It is about building the technical pillars that create a champion. Learn the exact methods our coaches use to help shooters of all ages find their center and aim with confidence.
Every great shooter, from a beginner to an Olympian, masters four basic parameters: Aiming, Breathing, Triggering, and Follow-through. Our coach introduces these core concepts that we build all our training on.
The first parameter is aiming. Our coach explains the two types of aiming, peep sight and open sight, and how to achieve perfect sight alignment for both rifle and pistol shooting.
The second parameter is breathing. Our coach explains the proper breathing sequence: inhale while lifting the pistol, exhale as you land on target, and hold for up to 7 seconds to ensure stability and avoid vibration.
The third parameter is triggering. It's about rhythm and pressure. Our coach demonstrates how to use the first and second pull of the trigger correctly to avoid jerking the pistol and ensure a clean shot.
The fourth parameter is follow-through. This is a critical part of analyzing your shot. By keeping your focus on the sight picture after the shot is fired, you can understand where your shot landed and how to improve the next one.
A strong stance is the foundation of a perfect shot. Here, we break down the four key points of a solid pistol shooting posture, from foot placement to keeping your elbow straight. This is the kind of detailed, technical coaching you can expect from us.
What is a good rifle position? Our coach demonstrates the four essential touch points for a stable rifle stance, including the butt plate, grip, palm rest, and cheek plate.
How do you find your perfect shoulder position and shooting angle? This video provides a simple exercise to find your body's natural point of aim, ensuring a comfortable and repeatable stance.
The difference between a good shot and a great shot is often in the trigger. We teach our shooters to squeeze, not snatch. This video explains the two-stage trigger pull process to ensure a smooth, jerk-free shot execution for precision marksmanship.
Ever wonder why top shooters cover one eye? Our coach explains the use of eye-blinders to block your non-dominant eye, prevent double vision, and achieve a clearer sight picture for better alignment.
About Coach's Corner: Mastering the Fundamentals
Most new shooters struggle because they focus entirely on the target. We flip that. We teach you to master the weapon's sights, your breath, and your muscle stability first. When you stop chasing the bullseye and start perfecting the four pillars—aiming, breathing, triggering, and follow-through—the shots start landing on their own. Come ready to learn, because here, wisdom comes from practice, not just reading.
Shooting is a sport of extreme patience and discipline. Whether you are aiming for a state-level medal or just want to pick up a new skill in Mumbai, your success depends on how you handle the basics.
The Four Pillars of Precision
- Aiming: We teach both open sight and peep sight systems. You must stop looking at the target and start focusing on your sight alignment. It is the only way to know where your shot is going before you pull the trigger.
- Breathing: Proper oxygen intake is vital for stability. We teach you to hold your breath in the aiming area for no more than seven seconds to prevent muscle vibration.
- Triggering: This is where most beginners go wrong. You do not snatch the trigger. We teach a two-stage pull—smooth, steady, and controlled to avoid any jerking motion.
- Follow-Through: Your work is not done when the pellet leaves the barrel. You must hold your sight picture to understand your shot placement and correct your mistakes for the next round.
