Frame & Construction
- Material: Solid heavy-gauge cane poles (Manau variety) bent via heat treatment.
- Reinforcement: Joints wrapped with split-cane bindings for structural stability.
- Surface: Sanded smooth and coated with 2 coats of clear varnish or wood-stain polish.
- Load Capacity: Supports standard adult weight up to 110 kg.
Upholstery
- Cushion: Includes one standard seat cushion with 2-3 inch density foam.
- Fabric: Standard cotton or poly-blend solid color cover.
- Feet: Nylon or rubber bushes attached to prevent floor scratches.
Usage Note
- Environment: Suitable for indoor or covered semi-outdoor areas (balconies). Not waterproof.

Pre-Processing
- Treatment: Fumigated material to prevent pest infestation.
- Condition: Supplied dry; requires 15-30 minute warm water soak before application to ensure pliability.

What We Do
We’ve been working with cane, rattan, and bamboo since 1979, right here in Bangalore. Making eco-friendly, sturdy pieces is just how we roll. If you’re after that natural vibe for your space, our stuff is all handmade - nothing machine-perfect, always a bit unique.
Lighting & Decor
Our handcrafted cane lampshades come in all sorts of shapes - dome, bell, round, and some wild tiered styles too. The weaves range from super tight to open and airy, so you can pick what fits. I’ve seen these light up more than a few homes and cafes - gives a warm, earthy glow.
Cane Materials & Webbing
We keep a massive stock of cane matting and bamboo webbing rolls for interiors. Most folks ask for the hexagonal ‘eye’ weave, but we’ve got other options too. Sizes are sorted - 18" to 36" rolls, bulk orders welcome. These are mostly used for custom cane wall paneling, chair backs, and even natural woven cabinet doors.
Custom Orders
Got a design stuck in your head? Toss it our way. We work a lot with architects and designers to make one-off pieces or tweak sizes. Customization is normal here, not the exception.
What to Expect
Our stuff’s tough, export-grade, but not indestructible - cane’s natural, so there’s always a bit of variation. We’re based in Shivaji Nagar, but if you’re not in Bangalore, don’t stress - we ship anywhere in India.

My Story
I’m Irfanullah Sharif, running Cane Centre here in Jayaram Market, Shivaji Nagar since 1979. It’s a family thing – we’ve stuck to honest work, no show-off. Our shop’s packed, floor to ceiling, with handmade cane stuff. Big hotels, architects, families, all come to us – some for decades. Our way is simple: good cane, fair price, solid work. No fancy talk, just real things.
