A little bit about me! I’m Utpala, a Chartered Accountant and Lawyer by profession, but a fiber artist by passion. This is my story.
About The Making Of
I often get asked exactly what my creations are used for, so I started my "Who Am I" series. At markets like the Sunday Soul Santhe, I attach these handwritten cards to each piece, explaining its purpose and quirks, so you know exactly what you are taking home before you buy.
While I spend my days working as a Chartered Accountant and Lawyer, my evenings are dedicated to fiber art. This page is a peek into how I turn my ideas into reality. You might find me crocheting in a quiet corner at home or even on a beach in the Maldives, where the ocean often inspires my color palettes and textures.
My process is not just about the final product. It involves teaching, too. I love hosting crochet workshops in Bangalore where we share the joy of making. Whether I am drafting a new pattern for a Rose Bag or teaching a beginner how to hold a hook, I pour my heart into every stitch.
My workspace is famously messy, filled with colorful yarn scraps and half finished projects. That is where the magic happens. I choose my materials carefully, using mercerized cotton for durability and high quality metal hardware for my bags. Every item has a story, and I am so grateful you are here to be part of it.
