About Traditional Ceremonies, Modern Aesthetic
I move away from generic, cluttered decor. My approach for traditional ceremonies relies on structured floral arrangements, tasteful props, and intentional color palettes, shifting from standard balloon arches to sophisticated, magazine-style backdrops for christenings or haldi rituals.
There is a gap between standard ceremony decor and what you see on Pinterest. Most traditional event setups rely on tired themes, but I treat every ritual—be it a baptism, rice ceremony, or Lohri—as a design project.
My work centers on two pillars: the environment and the capture.
The Decor Approach
I focus on textures and natural elements rather than plastic fillers. For a baby shower, we might use pampas grass and soft watercolor stationery. For a baptism or christening, I favor lush floral installations and clean, architectural backdrops that provide a serene, premium feel. I prioritize minimalism to ensure the focus remains on the family and the moment.
The Visual Capture
Because I am also a photographer, I don't just set up the scene and leave. I understand how light interacts with the props I place. I know where the best candid moments happen during a haldi ceremony and how to capture the bride’s expressions without intrusive lighting.
