Olympic-style Fencing Coaching and Technique Training
Fencing is essentially physical chess. Whether you are picking up a foil for the first time or training for a tournament, our sessions focus on the fundamentals—footwork, blade skills, and the tactical discipline needed to outthink your opponent.
While group classes are great, individual lessons are where we refine technique. Here, you can see a personalized coaching session in progress, focusing on blade work and strategy to help a fencer sharpen their skills and gain a competitive edge.
A coach and student practice basic parries and attacks. This kind of controlled drilling is fundamental to building the muscle memory required for quick reactions during a real bout. Every session includes this focused technical work.
As a coach, I believe in observing every detail. In this clip, I am watching a student's footwork and posture during a drill, ready to provide immediate feedback. There is no room for mistakes when building a strong foundation.
The journey in fencing is about persistence. This video shows a student practicing her attacks against a coach, embodying the spirit of "Don't give up". Every touch, missed or scored, is a learning opportunity.
Fencing is a sport for everyone, and we are proud of our strong female athletes. This clip shows our girl fencers practicing their footwork, demonstrating the grace, speed, and power that the sport cultivates.
About Coaching & Technique
We do not just teach you how to swing a blade. In our training sessions, we break down every movement into deliberate drills, from perfecting your en garde stance to managing distance with precision. You will see us emphasizing footwork heavily because, in this sport, your legs are just as important as your weapon. If you are training with me or my team, expect to sweat, learn the logic behind every parry, and leave the strip with a clearer understanding of your own movement.
Fencing is a technical sport where your mind dictates the speed of your body. Our coaching approach is built on three pillars: technical precision, physical conditioning, and tactical awareness.
What We Teach
We cover all three Olympic styles: Foil, Epee, and Sabre. Beginners usually start with the foil to understand the fundamentals of right-of-way, but we encourage students to experiment with Epee and Sabre as they grow. My role as an NIS-certified coach is to ensure you understand why a move works, not just how to execute it. We record drills, correct postures, and constantly analyze your bladework.
Where We Train
We operate two distinct training environments to suit different needs:
- Indiranagar (Citi Nest Sports Centre): This is our intensive setup. We cap batches at 10 students to ensure every fencer gets personal attention during their 2-hour daily sessions. This is ideal for those who want to accelerate their progress or prepare for state and national tournaments.
- Peenya (Government First Grade College): This is our grassroots hub. It is a high-energy environment focused on building your athletic foundation. We emphasize physical conditioning, agility ladders, and fundamental blade control here.
The Path to Mastery
Consistency is the only secret. You might join for fitness, but you will stay for the discipline. We enforce proper safety protocols and ensure everyone, from a 5-year-old beginner to an adult enthusiast, learns to respect the gear and the opponent. When you step onto the strip, you are not just fighting; you are solving a complex puzzle under pressure.
