About this collection
When designing for two kids, the secret is usually in the floor plan. We often use central storage or custom bookshelf units to create a physical divider between beds, giving each child a sense of personal territory even if they are just a few feet apart. This simple architectural step prevents the room from feeling like a dorm and helps keep sibling squabbles at bay.
Shared rooms in Bangalore apartments are rarely spacious. When we sit down to design these spaces, we prioritize three non-negotiable elements: sleep comfort, individual study zones, and long-term durability.
The Material Matters
Because kids' rooms see a lot of movement, we prioritize structural integrity. For bunk bed systems and heavy-duty lofts, we exclusively use Marine-Grade Plywood (ISO 710). It handles the weight and the rough usage better than standard commercial ply. If you choose our premium packages, we use 2mm PVC edge banding on all exposed corners to ensure there are no sharp edges for accidental bumps.
Designing for Productivity
Even in small rooms, we try to carve out dedicated workspace for each child. Whether it is a long, shared counter with a central drawer unit or individual floating desks tucked under lofts, we ensure each child has their own desk. This helps establish study habits and keeps school supplies organized.
Flexibility for Growth
Children grow fast, and their interests shift. Our layouts are designed to adapt. We often use modular storage, such as drawers built into staircase units, which provides ample space for toys now and textbooks later. If you are worried about the room feeling cramped, we can integrate space-saving Murphy beds that fold flush into the wall, turning the bedroom into a play area during the day.
What We Need from You
To give you an accurate design proposal, we need to know your room's dimensions and the age of your children. This allows us to determine if a vertical bunk setup or a side-by-side floor layout will work best. We handle everything from the initial 3D sketch to the final installation at your Bangalore home.
Home Interiors
At Bangalore Home Interiors, we don't believe in one-size-fits-all designs. We listen to what your kids actually need—whether it is a quiet study nook, extra toy storage, or a bunk bed that doesn't feel cramped—and build a layout that fits your specific room size.
