About Bangalore's Best Rock: Routes & Crags
Outdoors, the rock dictates the rules, not a gym setter. Whether it’s the technical granite slabs of Yedumadu or the high-reaching multi-pitch lines at Savandurga, every crag in Bangalore offers a unique puzzle. You will be dealing with sun exposure and natural rock textures that challenge your footwork in ways indoor gyms cannot. We choose our weekend spots based on safety and accessibility, ensuring you learn to read the stone rather than just follow color-coded tape.
Our Playground: Bangalore's Granite
Bangalore sits on some of the finest granite in the country. Our climbing culture is defined by these crags, ranging from the historic boulders of Turahalli to the multi-pitch giants at Bananthimarri Betta.
Sport vs. Traditional Climbing
Our workshops cover various disciplines. While many of our newer routes are bolted for sport climbing—offering a more accessible entry point for gym climbers—we also maintain respect for the older traditional lines. When you climb with us, you aren't just gaining vertical distance; you are learning how to manage your own safety, from cleaning a route to building anchors.
Safety in a Wilderness Setting
Unlike indoor facilities, our climbing sites are wilderness areas. There are no changing rooms, bathrooms, or padded floors. You are responsible for your own hydration and sun protection. We provide the certified hardware—harnesses, helmets, and ATC belay devices—but the responsibility for safe movement lies with the climber. Our lead instructors maintain a tight 1:4 or 1:5 ratio to ensure every participant gets eyes-on support, especially when tackling technical slab moves or awkward overhangs.
Join the Tribe
Whether you are chasing your first 5.10 grade or looking to practice self-rescue, the rock here demands a specific mindset. It’s about balance, friction, and patience. If you’re ready to trade the plastic holds for the real deal, come join us at our next workshop. We’ll be at the crag, waiting for you.
Climbing Initiatives
We are just a bunch of folks who got totally hooked on the rocks around Bangalore. We don’t just climb; we develop routes, clean faces, and build a family that cheers for every move. If you’re looking to get outdoors, we’re the ones yelling 'Aale aale!' when it gets tough.
