About At the Crag: Gear, Friends, and Good Times
When we head out to Ramanagara or other local granite crags, we aren't just showing up to climb. We are hauling the full technical setup—harnesses, helmets, ropes, and ATC devices—so you don't need to own a thing. Just pack your water, sunscreen, and that nervous excitement, because our volunteers handle the safety rigging while you focus on making your first moves on natural rock.
The reality of a day at the crag is a mix of grit and pure stoke. You will find us packing up early on Sunday mornings, hauling gear to the base of the granite faces. If you are new, you might be surprised by how much trust goes into the system—the knots we drill, the belay checks we repeat, and the way everyone watches out for each other.
We keep our workshops grounded. You won't find lectures here. You will find practical, hands-on time learning to move on granite, trusting your feet, and getting comfortable with the height. Whether you are an indoor gym climber ready to touch real rock or someone who has never been climbing in their life, our goal is the same: to get you up the wall safely.
What to Expect
- The Gear: We provide UIAA and CE certified hardware, including specialized rock shoes (La Sportiva or Ocun).
- The Location: We frequent granite crags like Ramanagara, about 50km from Bangalore.
- The Vibe: It is loud, supportive, and definitely not corporate. Expect a full day (usually 7 AM to 6 PM) of learning, shared food, and camaraderie.
Safety is non-negotiable. Our lead instructors maintain tight ratios (1:4 or 1:5) to ensure every participant gets individual attention, from knot-crafting to safe rappelling. Come prepared for a long day in the sun, a bit of physical challenge, and a community that will cheer for you even when you're struggling on the easy stuff.
