We are a five-piece collective bringing a raw, honest energy to every stage. From soulful Sufi to high-octane Bollywood rock, this is the story behind the Malhar sound.

About Meet The Band: Malhar
The real magic of Malhar isn't just the music, it's the non-verbal communication between us. During a live set, we constantly read the crowd and each other; when the bassist sees the drummer shifting the tempo, he knows exactly when to drop into a groove, or when to hold back. When you book us, you're not getting a rigid setlist—you're getting a live unit that adapts the energy in real-time to make sure your event doesn't just sound good, but feels right.
Malhar is a full 5-piece outfit comprising lead vocals and rhythm guitar, lead electric guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards. This lineup allows us to switch gears easily, whether you need a high-energy concert vibe for a corporate annual day or a stripped-back, soulful experience for an intimate anniversary dinner.
The Malhar Sound
Our repertoire spans Bollywood rock, Sufi classics, and retro anthems. We don't just cover songs; we rearrange them to fit our signature style. If you love Atif Aslam or the soulful energy of Junoon, you'll hear those influences in our sets. For college fests and large gatherings, we lean into our electric setup, bringing the full power of a rock concert. For smaller pub gigs or cocktail hours, we can scale down to an acoustic trio, focusing on the lyrics and the melody without losing the punch.
Getting the Best Sound
Because we play live, sound is everything. We prioritize working with your audio team to ensure the mix is balanced. Our tech rider is standard, but we always talk to your venue manager beforehand to make sure we have the right monitors and mics, especially for outdoor events where wind or acoustics can be tricky.

We’ve spent 12 years on the road, playing in pubs in Bangalore, open-air fests, and private venues across the country.
