The Group Vibe: Where Strangers Become Family
Most of our backpackers join solo and leave with a phone full of memories. We focus on the bus parties, campfire stories, and the magic that happens when a group of strangers spends a weekend together.
We meet all kinds of people on our treks, from first timers to seasoned pros preparing for Everest Base Camp. Everyone has a story, and everyone is welcome.
The journey is just as important as the destination. Our trips are filled with laughter, singing, and creating bonds that last long after the weekend is over.
A perfect weekend is just a trip away. We bring together unknown people and turn them into a tight-knit group against the backdrop of a beautiful hill station.
A proud moment for the group after the Kodachadri trek on Independence Day, celebrating freedom and friendship on the misty peaks.
Our group proudly holding the Indian flag at the ancient gates of Kodachadri fort. A trek filled with patriotism and adventure.
The entire crew together at the Kudremukha peak. This is the reward after a long and beautiful trek through the Western Ghats.
All smiles on the sunny shores of Gokarna. Our beach trips are perfect for making new friends and soaking up the coastal sun.
A selfie capturing the happy faces during our Uttari Betta sunrise trek. Nothing beats watching the sunrise with a fun group.
Taking a break in the famous pine forests of Kodaikanal. These moments of rest and conversation are what make group travel special.
Our Ooty crew posing by the serene Pykara Lake. Boating and sightseeing are always more fun with a great group.
About The Group Vibe: More Than a Trip, It's a Tribe
It is not just about the destination. Expect loud music on the bus, random conversations at 3 AM, and the inevitable group selfie. If you are joining solo, do not worry—our trip captains are experts at breaking the ice, so you will be part of the squad before we even hit the first pitstop.
Travel is rarely about the place itself. It is about the people you meet while you are there. We built Backpackers United to be a community, not just a travel operator. When you sign up for a weekend getaway from Bangalore, you are not just booking a seat on a bus; you are stepping into a ready-made circle of friends.
Why Our Trips Feel Different
- No Awkward Silences: Most of our travellers join solo. We have seen shy people become the life of the party by the second day because our trip leads know exactly how to get everyone talking.
- The 'Bus Vibe': The journey is part of the experience. We keep the energy high from the moment we leave Indiranagar or Domlur, with music and chatter that makes the overnight journey disappear.
- Real Connections: Whether we are camping under the stars in a Western Ghats trek or chilling on a beach in Gokarna, the evenings are dedicated to bonfire talks and stories that you would never share with random tourists.
Practical Stuff You Should Know
We keep things real. You will be sharing tents or dorms, and yes, that means you might have to deal with common washrooms or simple local food. We do not offer luxury resorts because we believe the best experiences happen when you are out of your comfort zone. If you are looking for five-star comfort, this might not be it. But if you want a weekend where you can be yourself, laugh until your stomach hurts, and maybe even learn how to trek a mountain, you are in the right place.
We handle all the boring logistics—forest permits, transport, and route planning—so you can focus on the only thing that matters: having a damn good time.
Backpackers United
We started Backpackers United back in 2017 because life gets way too serious, and sometimes you just need to disconnect with a fun group of people. We handle the logistics, the permits, and the route planning, while you bring the energy. You show up as a stranger, and we promise you will leave with a new squad.
