About Destination Deep Dive: Munnar, Kodaikanal & Ooty
Most people join our hill station trips solo, and by Saturday morning, the bus ride already feels like a friend group reunion. We handle all the logistics—the Tempo Traveller from Bangalore, the homestays, and the local permits—so you aren't stressing about maps or missed turns while chasing sunsets in Munnar or the Nilgiris.
Our trips to Munnar, Kodaikanal, and Ooty are built for the weekend warrior. We know you’re tired of the city grind, so we’ve made the process of getting to these hill stations as seamless as possible. We pick you up in Bangalore on Friday night, and by the time you're back on Monday morning, you’ve usually got a phone full of photos and a bunch of new friends.
We don't do hotels where you're just another room number. We stick to homestays where you can actually breathe the mountain air. Regarding the itineraries: Munnar is all about the sprawling tea plantations and that specific misty vibe that makes you forget your inbox exists. Kodaikanal is for the pine forest walks and the 'gift of the forest' experience, while Ooty gives you that classic hill station nostalgia with Pykara Lake and local tea gardens.
What about the travel? We use Tempo Travellers for the group. Yes, it’s a group trip, so expect some bus madness and music. We cover the entry fees, the permits, and the transport. You just bring your backpack and a decent pair of shoes. Since we’re all about community, don't be surprised if your Trip Captain turns into your main source of travel stories by the end of the trip. If you have questions about specific boarding points in Indiranagar or the fitness level required for the various viewpoints, just hit us up on WhatsApp.
Backpackers United
We started Backpackers United in 2017 because life in the city gets heavy, and sometimes you just need to pack a bag and disappear. We aren't your typical tour operators; think of us as your travel crew that handles the boring stuff like permits and transport, while you handle the fun stuff—like making new friends and surviving our bus playlists.
