Premium Fabrics for Traditional Saya and Sherwanis
A great outfit starts with the right material. From soft, breathable cottons for daily wear to premium, structured fabrics for sherwanis, I handpick everything in my collection to ensure it holds a perfect finish.
It is important to know the difference between original and duplicate fabric. In this video, I show you how to identify an original Ruby fabric by its flat, clear selvedge print, compared to the embossed and less-finished marking on a duplicate. I only use original, high-quality materials.
This is my latest collection of fabrics for Surti sherwanis, Modi jackets, and wedding sherwanis. I have a variety of colors and patterns, like this fine floral print in silver and cream, perfect for corporate meetings or family functions.
My new stock of color kurta fabrics has arrived. These are all pure cotton, premium fabrics with many fine prints and different colors. I will be posting photos with matching izars, so let me know if you want to see them.
This is a high-quality 'Shahi' print kurta fabric. The material is very comfortable to wear, especially in hot weather, and the royal damask pattern in blue and gold makes for a very handsome kurta.
I stock a variety of soft cotton kurta fabrics in many different colors. These materials are easy to iron and very comfortable against the skin, making them an excellent choice for daily or casual wear.
Here is a look at five fancy kurti fabrics with their matching izars. I have soft cottons in green, blue prints on a white base, and pastel colors that can be paired with cream, blue, or yellow izars for a complete set.
This is part two of my fancy kurti izar fabric series. I am showing five more options, including a light turquoise English color, a fine print on cream, and a unique grey printed fabric, all with matching plain izars.
This is part three of my fabric series, showing more design prints. I have fabrics that can be paired with blue, brown, or cream izars. All these options are available on my WhatsApp channel for you to browse.
About Our Premium Fabrics
When you are shopping for your next outfit, pay close attention to the selvedge print on the fabric. An original Ruby Mill piece will have a clear, flat print along the edge, whereas duplicates often have an embossed, rough finish that feels cheaper to the touch. I only stock the original material because the longevity of your Saya and the drape of your Izaar depend entirely on the fabric quality.
Quality You Can Feel
I don't just sell fabric; I use these same materials in my workshop every day. When I source stock for my shop in Bhendi Bazaar, I am thinking about how the cloth will handle a needle, how it will look after a wash, and how it will feel on your skin during a long Ziyafat or wedding ceremony.
My Fabric Collection
- Original Ruby Mill Cottons: These are my go-to for Saya Kurta sets. They offer high thread counts, they are easy to iron, and they maintain their starch retention, which is why they look crisp even after hours of wear.
- Sherwani & Indo-Western Materials: For special occasions, I select jacquards and heavy blends that can support the weight of Zardosi handwork. These fabrics are structured to mimic a suit jacket's fall, giving you that sharp, regal silhouette.
- Seasonal Prints: I regularly bring in new stocks of floral, geometric, and classic damask prints. I try to keep a mix of sober tones for formal events and brighter, unique patterns for casual or family functions.
Why Fabric Sourcing Matters
Many people think the stitching is the only thing that makes an outfit, but the fabric is the foundation. If the base material is poor, the embroidery will pucker, and the stitching will loosen over time. Whether you are in Mumbai or ordering from Dubai or the USA, I apply the same scrutiny to your material as I would for my own family's clothes.
If you have a specific pattern in mind or need a color to match your family's twinning outfits, send me a photo. I will check my current rolls and let you know what is available.

Salaam. I am Abdulqadir, and for me, fabric selection is a matter of zimmedari (responsibility). I personally inspect every roll of cloth before it enters my shop, ensuring it meets the high standards required for our traditional Saya and Sherwani work.
