Why choose black and white for your maternity shoot? It is all about removing distractions. When you are standing in a lush Mumbai park or a sunlit studio, color can sometimes pull the eye away from the most important subject—you. B&W forces the viewer to look at the expression in your eyes, the shape of your bump, and the connection between you and your partner.
I use high-contrast lighting techniques to make these portraits pop. For those who opt for my studio sessions in Borivali, we play with dramatic shadows. For outdoor shoots, I look for deep woodland backgrounds where the monochrome treatment turns trees and leaves into a soft, textured backdrop that makes you stand out.
