I use high-end equipment like the Sony Alpha mirrorless system and Zeiss Otus lenses because they provide the precision and sharpness I need for professional portraits. When I am at a location, I am looking for the natural light, the angle, and the timing. If the available light does not work, I know how to create my own.

My approach to "getting it right in the camera" is why I spend time in workshops from London to New York. I want to understand the limits of my cameras and lenses, such as their image stabilization capabilities or depth-of-field control. This technical knowledge gives me the freedom to focus on your candid expressions and unscripted moments rather than fumbling with settings.
