Fashion Show Jury & Expert Industry Mentorship
I bring three decades of Bollywood costume design experience to your jury panel. I don’t just spot talent; I provide the critical, real-world feedback students need to bridge the gap between the classroom and the runway.
It was a great honor to receive the Character Tree Award, acknowledging my 30 years of work in the Hindi film industry. Moments like these, being recognized for giving characters a new identity through fashion, are truly special.
A few behind the scenes moments from judging Miss Universe India. It was a night of true glamour and style, and I loved every moment of it, from the contestant interviews to the final walk down the ramp.
A Sunday well spent shooting with the beautiful Prasiddhi, who is competing for Miss Nepal International. I love directing shoots and helping contestants find their best angles and poses to make a lasting impression.
Dressing up people is my main forte, especially beauty pageant contestants. Here, I am sharing tips on how I styled Miss Nepal International, using boot cut jeans and long jackets to create a stunning, taller silhouette for different events.
About Judging: An Eye for Talent
When I sit on a jury panel, I’m not there to just hand out trophies. I’m looking at the finish, the fabric choice, and the technical execution. I’ve seen enough student collections fail because of poor ramp presentation, so expect honest, tough feedback from me. If you want someone to sugarcoat it, that’s not me, but if you want to know what actually sells and what works on the runway, let’s talk.
What I Bring to the Jury Table
Judging is about more than just a score. It is about understanding the vision of the designer and seeing if the execution matches that dream. My perspective comes from 30 years of creating looks for films where every detail is scrutinized on screen.
When I am judging your event, I evaluate based on:
- Technical Finish: How the garment handles movement, fit, and construction.
- Ramp Appeal: How the outfit behaves under stage lights and in motion, not just on a mannequin.
- Commercial Viability: Can this be sold? Is it ready for the market?
More Than Just a Judge
I treat my jury role as an extension of my mentorship. During the event, I don't just sit at the table. I make it a point to go backstage, interact with the designers, and provide feedback on why something worked or why it didn't. This 'real-world' check is where the learning happens.
Why Invite Me?
If you are organizing a graduation show, a national pageant, or a fashion competition, you need a judge who can offer:
- Media-Ready Validation: I bring my experience from working with top stars and major films, which adds credibility to your event.
- Constructive Critique: My goal is to elevate the students. The feedback I share at the end of the show is designed to show them the industry reality, not just the theory.
- Engaging Presence: I love the energy of young designers. Whether it is presenting awards or giving a closing address, I ensure the experience is memorable and motivating for everyone involved.
Let’s discuss your upcoming event, the theme, and how we can make your fashion show the talk of the town.
