About The Art of Detail: Decor, Food & Ambiance
For decor and catering shots, I focus on the lighting and textures that define your venue’s vibe. Whether it's the warm glow of a chandelier at a reception or the sizzle of a live teppanyaki station, I use a mix of macro photography and off-camera flash to ensure the atmosphere you spent months planning is preserved exactly as it was.
When you spend weeks coordinating your decor, floral arrangements, and catering menu, you want those efforts captured just as vividly as the ceremonies themselves. My process for photographing decor and ambiance involves careful attention to the light—I often use off-camera flash setups to balance the tricky lighting found at evening receptions, ensuring the true colors of your flowers and linens pop without being overexposed.
I treat a live food station or a carefully set table with the same level of importance as a portrait. Whether it is capturing the steam at a live grill, the intricate detail of a petal cone, or the scale of a grand entrance, my goal is to document the complete sensory experience of your day. These images, combined with shots of your mandap or reception stage, serve as a record of the atmosphere you created for your guests. I capture a mix of wide shots to show the venue’s layout and macro images that highlight the textures of your decor, so when you look back, you remember exactly how the event felt, not just what it looked like.
