Spiritual & Devotional Journeys: Tabla for Meditation

My music is more than a performance; it is a prayer. By combining the ancient science of Naad Yoga with the rhythm of the Tabla, I create spaces for meditation, devotion, and stillness in temples and sacred gatherings.

This was not a performance, but a prayer. A 'Tabla Shiva Samarpan' on a sacred Sawan Somwar, where each beat flowed with the aarti and bells. This is the essence of Naad Yoga, a complete surrender to the divine through sound.

Surrounded by young, receptive minds at the Mouni Baba Ashram in Ujjain after a concert. Sharing music in such a sacred space is a true blessing, and the positive energy from the audience was incredibly uplifting.

A glimpse into 'Arpanotsav', a unique storytelling event featuring my 'Ramayan on Tabla' concept. Here, I use the rhythmic language of the tabla to narrate epic tales, creating an audio-visual experience that is both spiritual and engaging.

A group photo with all the wonderful students and members of the Mouni Baba Ashram. It is my belief that music is a powerful tool for value-based education, and I am grateful for opportunities to connect with the youth in such spiritual settings.

Standing in the serene Mouni Baba Ashram in Ujjain. The peace and sanctity of such places deeply influence my music, allowing me to connect with and channel a more profound, meditative energy in my performances.

About this collection

These sessions are fundamentally different from standard stage concerts. When I perform at places like the Mouni Baba Ashram in Ujjain, the focus is entirely on the environment and the energy of the audience. The music acts as a bridge for collective meditation, where I adjust my rhythm based on the spiritual resonance of the space, ensuring the Tabla supports the atmosphere rather than dominating it.

Music as a Spiritual Bridge

I view the Tabla not as an instrument, but as a language of the soul. My spiritual and devotional journeys focus on connecting with the divine through rhythm. Whether it is a 'Tabla Shiva Samarpan' during Sawan or narrating the Ramayan through sound, the goal is to help listeners enter a meditative state.

The Science of Naad Yoga

At the core of these performances is Naad Yoga, the ancient practice of using sound to harmonize the body and mind. By focusing on specific bols (rhythmic syllables) that resonate with traditional spiritual concepts, I work to quiet the noise of the outside world. This is not about complex technical displays; it is about the sustained, rhythmic pulse that invites introspection.

Designing Your Event

I am available for performances in temples, ashrams, and private spiritual gatherings.

  • Atmospheric Alignment: I prefer to understand the nature of the space before we begin. If it is an open-air temple event or an intimate ashram gathering, the acoustic setup and the repertoire change significantly.
  • Concept Performances: For events like 'Ramayan on Tabla,' I combine storytelling with live percussion. These are ideal for cultural festivals or community gatherings looking for a meaningful audio-visual experience.
  • Collaborative Energy: I often collaborate with other musicians—flautists or vocalists—to build a multi-layered soundscape that suits the solemnity of your occasion.

If you are planning an event that requires a focus on depth, silence, and devotion rather than high-energy entertainment, let us discuss how we can bring that vision to life through the Tabla.
