About On the Competition Circuit
Performing on the competition circuit is a different beast compared to a casual jam. It forces you to rely on muscle memory and raw creativity because when the loopstation starts, there is no room for a redo. You learn to balance technical precision with the kind of stage presence that keeps the crowd locked in.
The competition circuit is where I sharpened my skills on the Boss RC-505. When you are in a battle, you do not just play music, you build a sonic architecture live. The judges and the crowd are looking for that specific intersection of technical chops and rhythm that makes people move.
My sets are a mix of psytrance, drum and bass, and whatever mood the crowd is vibing with. Whether I am performing at a packed festival in Goa or a private event here in Bangalore, the goal is to create a full soundscape using nothing but my voice and my loopstation. It is high-energy, it is loud, and it is usually a bit chaotic in the best way possible.
