About this collection
For these sessions, we shift away from standard backdrops to focus on texture and mood. Whether it is the soft, painting-like quality of our fine art colour portraits or the raw, unfiltered honesty of black and white, the goal is to create an heirloom piece rather than just a photo. You will find that these shots rely heavily on directional lighting and carefully curated studio styling to elevate the emotion of the moment.
When we strip away the noise of everyday life, all that remains is the connection between you and your family. That is the essence of my fine art and black and white portraiture.
The Artistic Approach
In my Gurgaon studio, we approach these sessions with a painterly eye. We use directional lighting to create shadows and highlights that bring out the contours and expressions often lost in flat, bright photography. These images are intended to look like pieces of art you would hang in a gallery, not just digital files for a feed.
Why Black and White?
Colour can sometimes be a distraction. By choosing black and white, we remove the visual clutter of clothing and environment, forcing the viewer to focus entirely on eyes, touch, and expression. It is the most honest way to document a bond.
The Session Experience
- Wardrobe: We lean into a minimalist, couture aesthetic. The focus remains on you and your loved ones, so we curate outfits that complement the mood without competing with it.
- Styling: My 'Vogue' family series uses specific posing and set design to emulate high-end editorial work.
- Output: Because these are intended to be heirlooms, I place a high emphasis on the final prints. We use premium textured paper and high-quality wall art options to ensure these images last for generations.
Whether you are planning a maternity announcement or wanting to capture a fleeting milestone, this style offers a sophistication that ages beautifully.
Anega Bawa Photography
I am Anega, and I believe some memories are too precious for standard snapshots. I treat every portrait session as a piece of art, focusing on the way the light hits your face or the quiet look between you and your child. I want to help you create images that feel as significant as the bonds they represent.
