Overcoming Stage Fright & Public Speaking Confidence
Public speaking shouldn't feel like a high-stakes performance. I help you quiet the internal anxiety and find a voice that feels like your own, regardless of the audience.
Stage fright is a universal experience, but it does not have to control you. This video outlines the first steps to combat performance anxiety, starting with solid preparation and organization. I also introduce the technique of recording yourself to analyze and refine your vocal delivery, including pace, pitch, and volume.
This clip builds on our work to overcome stage fright with two powerful mindfulness techniques. I explain how practicing in front of a mirror can refine your body language and how visualizing a supportive audience can transform fear into excitement. We also touch on the importance of breathwork to instantly calm your nerves before you speak.
Does speaking in front of friends and family make you more nervous? You are not alone. In this video, I reflect on my own journey of overcoming this specific fear. The key is shifting your mindset from "What will they think of me?" to "How can I serve my audience?", a technique that builds confidence regardless of who is in the room.
What do you do when you face a disengaged audience? In this video, I share a personal anecdote about using a simple, light-hearted line to break the ice and win back the room's attention. Learning to read the room and address the energy directly with a touch of humor is a powerful skill for any speaker.
About Overcoming Fear & Building Confidence
We start by dismantling the idea that you need a perfect, word-for-word script. Instead, I teach a '3-Step Memorization Method'—Read, Chunk, Visualize—which allows you to internalize your message so you can react naturally to the room. It shifts your focus from remembering lines to managing your energy, making even a room of strangers feel like a conversation with friends.
Moving from Performance to Connection
Many of my clients come to me believing they need to sound like a politician or a corporate robot to be effective. The reality is that an audience connects with a human, not a scripted performance. My coaching process is built on the same techniques I use while emceeing global summits and high-stakes corporate events in Delhi NCR.
The Coaching Framework
- Mindfulness & NLP Tools: We don't just 'power through' anxiety. We use guided breathing exercises and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) to reset your physiological response to a crowd.
- Vocal Modulation: Your voice is your instrument. We work on pacing, pitch, and the strategic use of silence. You will learn when to speed up for excitement and when to slow down to make a point land.
- The 'Mirror Technique': As seen in my work, practicing in front of a mirror isn't about vanity; it's about observing your own body language. We break down your gestures, eye contact, and posture to ensure your physical presence matches your words.
Why My Approach Works
Having grown up with dyslexia, I learned early on that traditional methods of memorization often fail. My approach is sensory and practical. Whether you are prepping for a wedding toast, a board presentation, or a public keynote, we focus on 'servicing the audience' rather than 'impressing the audience.' When you shift that mindset—from 'what will they think of me' to 'what can they learn from me'—the fear naturally dissipates.
We offer both live group workshops for those who benefit from peer learning and 1-on-1 intensive sessions for those needing a diagnostic audit of their speaking style, crutch words, and nervous habits.
