Overcoming Stage Fright and Performance Anxiety

Nervousness before a speech isn't a flaw, it is a sign that you care. Let's turn that jittery energy into the fuel for your next great performance.

A shot from my TEDx talk, where I discussed overcoming fear. This image captures the theme of turning stage fright into self-confidence, a journey I guide my clients through.

Stage fright is the number one barrier for most speakers. In this video, I share three of my most effective tips to manage performance anxiety: visualizing your success, practicing until it's second nature, and using positive self-talk to build confidence.

Preparation is the foundation of confidence. This tip emphasizes dedicating time to rehearse your material until you know it inside and out. The more familiar you are, the easier it is to conquer nerves and deliver a stellar performance.

A reminder that solid preparation is your best defense against stage fright. When you've put in the work, you can trust your abilities and focus on connecting with your audience instead of worrying about forgetting your lines.

Visualize your success. Before you even step on stage, close your eyes and imagine yourself captivating the audience. This mental rehearsal reduces anxiety and paves the way for an extraordinary performance.

Another prompt to visualize success. This technique is a core part of my coaching because it trains your brain to associate public speaking with positive outcomes, building a foundation of confidence.

You can't achieve what you don't believe. Self-assurance is critical. This tip is a reminder that believing in your message and your ability to deliver it is the first step to becoming the best speaker you can be.

About this collection

Stop trying to eliminate nerves entirely; it is impossible. Instead, we use a specific approach for your opening. In our first session, we do not just fix your posture, we craft your opening 30 seconds to lock in audience attention. By the time you get to your main points, the anxiety has already shifted into flow.

My Approach: Psychology over Scripts

Most public speaking coaches give you a script and tell you to memorize it. That is the quickest way to sound like a robot. As a mentalist, I look at speaking through a psychological lens. We do not need you to be perfect; we need you to be present.

How We Work Together

Whether you are preparing for a TEDx talk, a boardroom presentation, or a college seminar, my coaching is designed to get results fast:

  • The 90-Minute Pitch Polish: This is for when you have a deadline. We audit your script, apply the 'Rule of Three' to your structure, and fix your body language anomalies. You leave with a clear plan to handle the audience.
  • 4-Week Stage Presence Mentorship: This is for deep work. We cover mindset in week one, non-verbal dominance in week two, and storytelling in week three, ending with a performance analysis. You get direct access to me on WhatsApp for those panic moments right before you step on stage.

What You Will Learn

We focus on three non-negotiables:

  1. The Hook: How to grab attention in 30 seconds so you don't have to worry about who is listening.
  2. Vocal Variety: Breaking the monotone pattern that puts audiences to sleep.
  3. Nerve Control: Using visualization techniques to reframe fear as excitement.

I conduct these sessions virtually or at cafes across Bangalore. If you are ready to stop fearing the mic and start enjoying it, let's talk.
