About Our Collection & Librarian's Picks
You do not need to be a literary scholar to find something great here, just ask our head librarian, Sharbani. She personally selects our monthly recommendations to match your language level, from A2 level comics that make learning fun to complex non-fiction for those reaching C1 fluency.
Our Médiathèque at Lodi Estate is a sanctuary for anyone who wants to dive deeper into French culture. With a collection that spans 30,000 items, we hold the largest repository of Francophone materials in the city. We have sections ranging from contemporary literature and AI research to a dedicated Pride corner and a vibrant youth section.
Membership Options
We offer two annual membership tiers designed for different reading habits:
- Classic Membership: Ideal for casual readers and language students. It allows you to check out 10 items at a time, including 4 books and 4 Bandes Dessinées (comics), with a 3-week loan period.
- Premium Membership: Built for avid readers and researchers. This tier increases your limit to 17 items, including 6 books and 6 comics, ensuring you have plenty of material to keep you engaged throughout the month.
Both memberships grant you full access to our climate-controlled reading rooms, computer stations, and e-library catalogs. A refundable security deposit of ₹2,000 applies to both plans.
Beyond the Books
This is not a silent, dusty archive. Our space is designed for connection. We host regular workshops, including creative writing and conversation sessions, where you can practice your French in a low-pressure environment. If you ever feel lost among the shelves, our team is always on hand to help you find titles suited to your specific level, whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced speaker.
