Classic Kerala architecture meets colonial charm. I design residences that honour heritage with sloping roofs, warm timber tones, and airy layouts tailored for modern life.

A new project in Palakad with a classic colonial-inspired design. This home features a symmetrical white facade, large windows, and distinctive dormer windows on the upper floor.

This project in Kollam features a similar colonial aesthetic with a clean white exterior, a modern carport, and warm lighting for a welcoming nighttime ambiance.

A charming and compact home that blends a traditional gabled roof with a modern, flat-roofed porch. The design is simple, elegant, and perfect for a small plot.

About this collection

I bridge the gap between classic aesthetics and functional modern needs. For colonial-inspired projects, I focus on precise structural elements like symmetrical white facades, gabled roofs, and dormer windows, ensuring they are not just decorative but effectively managed for ventilation and light in our tropical climate.

Architectural Philosophy

Designing a home in this style is about balance. You want the nostalgia of the sloping terracotta roof and the symmetry of a colonial facade, but you need a home that functions for a modern family. I prioritize the structural grid and airflow before finalizing the aesthetic details. Whether it is incorporating large glass windows to balance a heavy gabled roof or using laterite stone to ground the structure in the landscape, the goal is a seamless blend of old and new.

The Design Process

Every project begins with understanding your site. I analyze wind and sun paths to determine where to place windows and living areas. Before any construction starts, I create detailed 3D models using 3ds Max and Corona. This step is critical; it allows you to see how light hits the facade and how the interior volume feels. You can adjust the roof pitch, the material palette—perhaps choosing between brick or stucco—and the window placement until the model perfectly captures your vision.

Scope of Work

My services cover the full architectural lifecycle:

  • New Builds: From conceptual zoning to detailed structural grids.
  • Renovations: I specialize in retrofitting existing houses, adding modern colonial touches while maintaining the original structural integrity.
  • Facade Styling: If your floor plan is ready, I focus purely on the elevation, lighting, and exterior material selection to achieve the desired traditional look.

By focusing on technical execution—like joinery schedules and proper drainage for sloping roofs—I ensure that the visual elegance of your home is matched by its longevity and comfort.
