These designs prioritize climate-responsive architecture, blending flat rooflines and open layouts with natural materials. This approach ensures your home remains cool and well-lit while maintaining a sharp, contemporary look.

A residence in Palakad featuring a powerful concrete form with a recessed wooden screen. The design uses integrated lighting along the roofline to highlight its clean, geometric shape.

This Bangalore project uses a dark grey color palette and a slatted screen on the upper floor to create a sleek, private, and modern urban home.

An upcoming project in Kannur with a bold, cubic design. The entrance is framed by a dark, imposing structure, contrasted with warm interior lighting visible through large windows.

About this collection

Before we build anything, I create hyper-realistic 3D models using 3ds Max and Corona. This allows you to see the exact lighting, material textures like exposed laterite or concrete, and how shadows fall across your space at different times of the day, ensuring you understand every visual detail before construction begins.

Designing a modern home in our climate requires more than just clean lines. My approach focuses on 'tropical modernism'—using flat rooflines, large glass walls, and open floor plans to encourage airflow, all while keeping the harsh sun out. Whether it's a villa in Bangalore or a residence in Kannur, the goal is to make the space feel light and breathable rather than sealed off.

Materiality and Privacy

The defining feature of these projects is the material palette. I prioritize using locally available materials like laterite, exposed concrete, and brick to give the structure a grounded, earthy feel that contrasts with the sharp, geometric layout. These are paired with vertical wooden slats or jali screens that serve a dual purpose: they provide necessary privacy from the street while filtering natural light into the living areas.

Site-Specific Planning

If you have a narrow plot or are working with complex site constraints, modern design is a significant advantage. I specialize in maximizing square footage through stacked volumes and cantilevered designs, ensuring that even a compact home feels expansive. Every project begins with a conversation about your site’s specific wind and sun orientation, ensuring the house is as comfortable as it is striking.

Why 3D Visualization Matters

Because I use 3ds Max and Corona, you get a full view of the house before a brick is laid. We don't just look at floor plans; we simulate the exterior aesthetics, including profile lighting on the facade and landscape integration. This process removes the guesswork, allowing us to refine the facade detailing, joinery, and material choices until the concept aligns perfectly with your requirements.
