Legal Awareness and Support by Reet Foundation
I founded Reet Foundation to turn law into a tool for safety. Through initiatives like Project Shakti and Durga, I bring legal rights education to those who need it most, because justice should not be a privilege.

About Community Work: The Reet Foundation
Most people feel intimidated by the legal system, but it does not have to be a closed door. My foundation bridges that gap by explaining complex laws in bahut saral bhasha (very simple language), so you know your rights before you even step into a courtroom.
When I left my teaching career at 37 to pursue law, I realized that the biggest barrier to justice is often just a lack of understanding. People have rights, but they do not always know how to assert them. That realization led to the birth of the Reet Foundation.
My Approach to Legal Empowerment
Through Projects like 'Shakti' and 'Durga', I travel across Gurugram and surrounding areas to conduct legal awareness sessions. We do not just talk about laws; we discuss real scenarios. We cover:
- Rights Awareness: Understanding the Domestic Violence Act and POSH compliance.
- Child Protection: Supporting campaigns like 'Child Marriage Free Bharat' to ensure safety for the next generation.
- Practical Guidance: Helping women navigate the intimidating process of legal filings without the jargon.
Why This Matters
Legal matters are often tied to deep personal crises, whether it is separation, custody battles, or abuse. My work at the foundation complements my private practice. If you are struggling with a legal issue, my team and I focus on reality checks—we tell you exactly where you stand, what the timelines look like, and what your options are. We believe that by simplifying the law, we give you the confidence to stand up for yourself. If you need support or guidance on your legal rights, reach out to us directly.
Ritu Kapoor
I spent years as a teacher before the law called to me, so I know how to explain complex rules without the jargon. I run the Reet Foundation because I believe justice belongs to everyone, not just those with the means to pay for it.
