Elegant Buns & Updos for Weddings and Parties
Whether you need a traditional bun for a Muhurtham or a chic, messy updo for your reception, I design styles that stay secure and comfortable from start to finish.

About Elegant Buns & Updos
A bun that lasts through an entire ceremony needs a solid foundation, not just a handful of bobby pins. I always start by creating root volume through precise crimping or back-combing before styling, which ensures your hair keeps its shape and structure—even when pinned with heavy traditional malli poo flowers or modern hair accessories.
Finding Your Style
Choosing an updo depends on the vibe of your event. For traditional South Indian functions, I focus on a structured, polished base that holds heavy Jadanagam jewelry and fresh jasmine securely. These styles are designed to last eight hours or more, keeping your look perfect through all the rituals.
For sangeets, cocktail parties, or receptions, I often pivot to messy buns or textured updos. These are softer and more romantic, often featuring face-framing tendrils and delicate pearl pins. These styles work well with modern sarees or lehengas and allow for a more playful, contemporary aesthetic.
The Process
Regardless of the style, my priority is making sure your hair feels secure. If your hair is fine or lacks volume, I use crimping at the roots to build a base that holds the style. For those with shorter hair or who want a fuller bun, I can incorporate clip-in extensions you provide.
I recommend discussing your hair accessories during your booking. Whether you are using fresh malli poo, roses, or crystal pins, let me know in advance so I can ensure the pins and net work are tailored to the weight and texture of your hair.
