Table Tennis Coaching for Kids: Start Early in Delhi
It’s never too early to start. I turn table tennis basics into fun, engaging games to build essential hand-eye coordination and confidence for children as young as four.
This is 5-year-old Avir, one of my youngest students, practicing his forehand. For beginners, we focus on simple, repetitive drills to build confidence and muscle memory from the very start.
A glimpse into a session with a 4-year-old player. At this age, the goal is to make hitting the ball fun and develop basic hand-eye coordination. You can see how we use a basket of balls for lots of repetition.
Here is 5-year-old Rudra working on his forehand. I ensure that my coaching for young kids is encouraging and positive, helping them to stay engaged and excited about learning.
This is 6-year-old Alankrit during one of his early training sessions. We start with simple ball-feeding drills to help young players get a feel for the racket and the ball.
A multiball session with a very young beginner. This technique is especially effective for kids, as it gives them many opportunities to make contact with the ball and experience success quickly.
About First Steps: Coaching for Beginners (Ages 4+)
When you bring your child in, don't worry if they have never held a racket. We start with multiball feeding, which means I feed the ball continuously to the student. This allows them to get plenty of chances to hit, laugh, and improve their hand-eye coordination without the pressure of a real match.
Why Start at 4?
Table tennis is the perfect sport for developing young minds and bodies. At our academy in GTB Nagar, we focus on the fundamentals through play, not rote drills. For our youngest players (ages 4+), the goal is simple: make the sport accessible and exciting so they build a lifelong love for it.
Our 'Fitness with Fun' Approach
Kids need to move. That is why our 60-minute sessions are not just standing at a table. We mix technical instruction with agility ladders, relay races, and reaction games.
- Small Batches: We keep groups small (around 6-8 kids) so your child gets proper attention.
- Technical Basics: We start with the shakehand grip and proper ready position.
- Equipment: We provide training rackets and balls for the first month, so you do not need to invest immediately.
What You Need to Know
We operate out of a dedicated indoor hall with pro-level tables. Because we have marble flooring, non-marking sports shoes are mandatory for all students to ensure safety and grip. We focus on consistency and muscle memory, using multiball training to help students master forehand drives and backhand pushes early on.
If you are worried about your child getting bored or overwhelmed, do not be. We celebrate every small win, whether it is their first rally or just learning to hold the racket correctly. We are building champions, but we are doing it with plenty of masti (fun) along the way.

Hi, I’m Mudit! Table tennis is everything to me, and nothing beats seeing a four-year-old nail their first forehand topspin. I treat every kid like family, keeping the energy high and the training grounded in fun.
