Abstract Tattoo Concepts & Ink Illustrations

Exploring the space between the real and the surreal. This collection is where I play with shapes, patterns, and symbols before they become part of your story.

A collection of abstract and geometric doodles from my sketchbook. These pieces are more about exploring patterns and shapes, like the triangle composition and the black and white negative space drawing.

A look back at some of my drawings from before 2020. This includes a mix of styles, from a colorful portrait to purely abstract ink and watercolor pieces, showing the evolution of my art.

A time-lapse showing my second attempt at drawing a lizard. This video captures the process of building up the scales and texture, and also includes a fun AI animation at the end.

An animation I created using Procreate, featuring some of my recurring motifs like sunflowers and eyes. It's a fun way for me to play with my designs in a digital format.

Another short, fun animation I made, playing with hypnotic circles and a blinking eye. This is just a creative experiment, exploring movement and simple forms.

A quick sketchbook doodle session, starting with a simple shape and letting it evolve into a surreal, winged eye creature. This is how I often warm up and generate new ideas.

About this collection

Every line you see here is drawn by hand, not digitally manipulated or filtered. I use fine liners and dotwork to build these textures from scratch, which means if you choose one of these concepts for a tattoo, you get the actual, original sketchbook work translated for your artist.

I don't use digital filters to create that tattoo look. Everything starts in my sketchbook with fineliners and pencils. You can see the shift from early, messy abstract doodles to the more controlled, mythological pieces I do now. If you are looking for a tattoo design that is not just a generic image from a search engine, these sketches provide a starting point.

We can take a shape from a doodle or a specific pattern from a geometric study and adapt it for your skin. It is a slow process, dot by dot and line by line, but it keeps the art authentic. Whether you like the look of negative space or high-density stippling, these sketches are essentially blueprints for what we can build together.

How to turn a sketch into a tattoo

  • Choose your motif: Pick a shape or pattern from this gallery that resonates with you.
  • Share your story: Send me the context or the personal meaning you want to weave into the design.
  • The Process: I will sketch a custom version, scan it at high resolution, and provide the stencil file for your local tattoo artist to apply.

If you have a concept in mind that you do not see here, let me know. I spend hours sketching to find the right balance of nature and surrealism, making sure every design has a pulse before it ever touches ink.
