My Journey Into Tattooing and Ink Art

I have spent years sketching on paper, but my newest adventure is bringing these surreal, nature-inspired lines onto skin. Here is a look at my ongoing training, from synthetic practice pads to my early, nerve-wracking experiments on human skin.

This was my first time tattooing on actual human skin. It was a nerve-wracking but incredible experience. It shows one of my wolf designs brought to life as a calf tattoo, marking the beginning of my journey from paper to skin.

A close-up video of me tattooing the mythical wolf design. You can see the process of laying down the lines and shading on skin, bringing the drawing to life.

A time-lapse of me practicing tattooing on synthetic skin. I'm working on a small flash design of an eye with roots, focusing on getting my lines clean and my shading smooth.

More tattoo practice on synthetic skin. This time, I'm working on a sun and eye motif, practicing both line work and shading techniques with a tattoo machine.

About this collection

I am currently focused on perfecting my machine technique using synthetic practice skin, so I am not yet booking full tattoo sessions on people. However, my custom design service is fully active, where I draft the high-resolution artwork and stencil files you can take to any professional tattoo artist to get inked perfectly.

From Sketchbook to Skin

Transitioning from paper to skin is a different beast entirely. When I draw on paper, my hand is steady and my fineliners know exactly where to go. Put a tattoo machine in my hand, and everything changes. The texture of synthetic skin is nothing like the canvas of human skin, and the vibration of the machine requires a completely different level of focus.

I share these process videos and practice pieces because I believe in showing the work behind the art. You will see my early attempts—like the wolf design on the calf—where I was legitimately shaking. Those moments of nervousness are part of the process of becoming a better artist. I am documenting this so you can see the effort that goes into every dot and line I create.

How I Create Your Design

If you like my style—my obsession with black and white line work, surreal eyes, and nature motifs—we can collaborate without me needing to hold the machine.

  1. The Brief: You tell me the story or the symbol you want to capture. Whether it is a protective guardian or a fragment of nature, I start with a pencil sketch to define the composition.
  2. The Refinement: I move to ink, adding the stippling and shading that give my work its depth.
  3. The Deliverable: You receive the final high-resolution 300 DPI scanned file and a clean stencil sheet. You can take these files to any reputable tattoo studio in your city to have the design applied with professional equipment.

My goal is to give you a piece of art that feels personal, symbolic, and technically sound, regardless of whether I am the one doing the final tattoo or just the one dreaming up the design.

I am Ankita, and my art is a reflection of the weird, beautiful world I see in my head, full of wolves, eyes, and shifting shadows. Right now, I am transitioning from ink on paper to ink on skin, treating every single line as a lesson in patience and precision.
