About Soulful Kids Portraits
In these sessions, I often use dramatic, Rembrandt style lighting to create a painterly, timeless aesthetic. However, I always leave room for your child to simply be themselves, whether that means capturing a quiet, thoughtful expression or a burst of playful energy during the same session.
I believe that childhood is a series of quiet, significant moments that deserve to be documented as art. When we shoot, my priority is to create an environment where your child feels comfortable enough to let their guard down. Whether we are aiming for a moody, painterly shot or something more light and airy, the session is always paced around their comfort.
I use specific lighting techniques, including Rembrandt lighting, to add depth and dimension to every portrait. This is what gives my images that classic, gallery like feel. But technique is secondary to emotion. If your little one needs a break, we take it. If they want to bring their favorite book or toy, it becomes part of the story we are telling. We offer both Fine Art portraiture, which is perfect for that statement piece above your fireplace, and more relaxed, lifestyle oriented captures. By the end of the session, we are not just looking for nice photos; we are looking for the ones that feel like your child.
