Ethnic Fashion Modeling and Creative Collaborations
When I step in front of the camera, it isn't just about the outfit. I use the same rhythm and expressions from my Bharatanatyam training to bring soul to every frame.
Modeling a beautiful yellow 'Manjal' cotton saree. The hand gestures of Bharatanatyam lend a unique grace to ethnic wear photoshoots.
Another shot from the 'Manjal' series, showcasing the elegance of a simple cotton saree combined with a classical dance mudra.
A close-up look at the 'kartarimukha' mudra while modeling this lovely yellow saree. My dance background influences my work as a model.
A bright and cheerful look for the 'Naaranghi' series. I enjoy collaborating with brands that celebrate color and traditional Indian aesthetics.
Flaunting a traditional cotton kurti with a zari border. My personal style is deeply rooted in comfortable and elegant ethnic wear.
About this collection
My approach to modeling is inseparable from my life as a dancer. When I pose, I rely on my knowledge of Abhinaya (expressive acting) and Mudras (hand gestures) to give life to fabrics, especially traditional handlooms. Brands often collaborate with me because I understand how to drape a saree and hold a posture so it looks natural and graceful, rather than stiff or staged.
For me, the camera is just another stage. Whether I am shooting for the 'Manjal' series or highlighting the details of a zari border, my goal is to showcase the story behind the garment. Bharatanatyam has taught me how to control my body, maintain a steady gaze, and convey emotion through subtle shifts in expression. These skills directly translate into effective ethnic fashion modeling, where the goal is to make the audience feel the comfort and heritage of the cloth.
Why Dance-Inspired Modeling Works
- Authenticity: I have a deep connection with traditional attire. I wear these outfits in my daily life and on stage, so I know how they move.
- Mudras & Posture: Using classical hand gestures adds a layer of depth that standard modeling often lacks. It brings a touch of temple art to fashion photography.
- Storytelling: Every shoot has a mood. I bring the same focus I use for a Shiva Stuthi performance to ensure the photographs reflect the brand's vision.
I am always looking for partners who value slow fashion, traditional textiles, and authentic storytelling. If you are a brand looking for someone who can move with grace and bring a classic aesthetic to your campaign, let's create something beautiful together.
