Retrofuturism: Reimagining Indian Cinema and History
What if Bollywood explored sci-fi in the 1960s? I build these alternate histories for films and brands, blending retro nostalgia with futuristic concepts to create worlds that feel strangely familiar.
A film poster from the fictional studio VyomaVision for a movie called "Do Deewane." I specialize in creating authentic-looking retro assets to build a believable history for a brand or story.
Another poster for "Do Deewane," showing a different design from the same fictional film. This demonstrates how I can create a full campaign's worth of material for a single concept.
"Engineer Antriksh: Chaand ka Rakhwaala." This poster captures the specific aesthetic of 1960s Indian sci-fi, from the costume design to the typography.
"Saaya: Aadhunik Intelligence." A more dramatic film concept from VyomaVision, exploring the idea of artificial intelligence with a classic cinematic feel.
"Ek Alien Ki Maut." A sci-fi noir thriller concept. I can create stories and visuals across different genres within a single retro-futuristic world.
A pulp-style poster for "Ek Alien Ki Maut," showing a different take on the same story. This highlights my versatility in creating genre-specific artwork.
"Pyaar Ka Bhoot Savaar," a supernatural romance. My world-building isn't limited to just sci-fi; I can blend it with other genres like romance and horror to create unique crossover concepts.
"Abhi Main Zinda Hoon." An action-packed cyborg film poster. This shows my ability to create high-energy, explosive concepts in a retro style.
"Super Sipahi 1000." A patriotic superhero concept from a bygone era. I can develop IP that taps into national sentiment and classic comic book tropes.
"Cyborg No. 1," a clear homage to classic 80s sci-fi but with a distinct Indian twist. This is part of my "Riyal Life" series where I blend pop culture with a local sensibility.
About Retrofuturism: Visions of a Past Future
Every piece of art you see here is a small part of a larger history I built from scratch. Whether it is a film poster for a studio that never existed or an advertisement for a corporation that only lives in my head, the goal is immersion. If you are developing a pitch deck or a brand narrative, my process goes beyond visuals. We start with the lore and the history, then we create the images that prove the world is real.
The images here are artifacts from timelines that never happened. Take VyomaVision, for example. It is my attempt to document a fictional 1960s Bollywood studio that specialized in hard sci-fi. By creating these 'lost' film posters and behind-the-scenes footage, I help clients visualize what a retro-futuristic film might actually look like in their treatment.
Then there is INSEMCO, the Indian Sentient Machines Corporation. This project is about building a corporate history, including the branding, the ads, and the evolution of the technology. For a brand, this kind of world-building is vital. It allows you to place your product or story into a context that feels fully realized rather than just a concept in a slide deck.
My process is not about creating random cool-looking visuals. It is about narrative architecture. If you hire me, we start by defining the rules of your world. What does the tech look like? What is the social sentiment? Who is the audience? Once the history is set, we build the visuals—whether it is keyframes for a film pitch, a full universe bible, or a motion mood film. This approach ensures your project has a distinct aesthetic that stands out because it feels like it has a soul.
