Forget imported sci-fi. I design characters born from our own urban myths, smog, and daily hustle. These are the faces of a new Indian folklore.

A portrait of a Yuntryodhā, a warrior-engineer from the MahaMachinist Nation. I create detailed character designs that fuse mythological aesthetics with sci-fi hardware, perfect for hero characters in games or films.

A female Yuntryodhā, showcasing the powerful and diverse inhabitants of the worlds I build. Her design combines traditional attire with heavy mechanical prosthetics, telling a story of strength and sacrifice.

Another female Yuntryodhā warrior, this time with a different set of augmentations. I develop variations in character design to create a rich and diverse cast for any narrative project.

A Yuntryodhā holding a glowing orb of energy. This image hints at the magical or technological powers of the characters, a key element in developing lore and gameplay mechanics.

A Yuntryodhā armed with a futuristic weapon and backpack machinery, ready for exploration or combat. This demonstrates my process for creating fully-equipped characters for action-oriented stories.

A Yuntryodhā with unique, bus-like headgear, showcasing the more surreal and imaginative character concepts I can develop. This kind of design is great for creating memorable, non-player characters (NPCs) in a game world.

A Yuntriksh pilgrim in a ceremonial spacesuit, with intricate designs on the chest plate. I build culture and ritual into my character designs, giving them depth beyond just their appearance.

A Yuntriksh pilgrim in a red and blue ceremonial suit. The different colors and designs of these suits can signify rank, clan, or purpose within the lore of the world.

A pilgrim in a heavy-duty red ceremonial suit. This design suggests a more industrial or protective function, adding another layer to the story of their pilgrimage.

A female Yuntriksh pilgrim, showing that these roles are not limited by gender in the worlds I create. Her design incorporates both traditional and futuristic elements.

About Characters & Creatures of New Indian Folklore

When I design a character, it is not just about the look; it is about the lore. Whether you need a Rākbhoot for a horror film or a squad of Yuntryodhās for a game concept, I build them with a backstory that fits our specific brand of Indian dystopia. If you have a half-formed idea for a creature that needs to feel real, we should talk.

Building Icons from Urban Realities

Most character design in India still leans on Western tropes. My approach to Indofuturism flips that. I take the specific anxieties of our cities—pollution, heatwaves, the vertical climb of social mobility—and turn them into monsters and heroes.

Why New Folklore?

A creature like my Rākbhoot is not just a monster; it is the physical embodiment of the smog that chokes our winters. It works as a cinematic antagonist because it is a terrifyingly familiar concept. Similarly, the Yuntriksh pilgrims are not just astronauts; they are the desperate, hopeful face of our own technological aspirations. You need characters that feel like they have lived in your universe for centuries, not just models slapped together.

How I Work

I do not just generate images. I build the logic behind the look.

  • Conceptualizing: We start with the 'Why'. What environment birthed this character? What are they fighting for?
  • Visual Synthesis: I blend traditional Indian aesthetics—textiles, jewelry, architecture—with hard sci-fi mechanics.
  • Narrative Integration: If you are building a game or film world, I provide the lore that anchors these designs.

I am Prateek, and I spend my time making sure Indian sci-fi stops looking like a copy-paste job from Hollywood. I build characters that feel like they belong in our streets—weird, gritty, and deeply human. If you want a creature or a hero that sticks with people, let’s get on a call.
