My Architectural Sketches and Artistic Process
I trained as an architect in Mumbai, and those years of model-making and sketching are the foundation of everything I create at Eroz today.
A detailed shot of an architectural model I created during my studies. The focus on form, space, and detail in architecture heavily influences my illustration work.
A traditional pencil and charcoal sketch I did of a couple. I love working in different mediums, and sketching is the foundation of all my digital art.
A serene landscape painting on canvas using acrylics. Exploring color and texture on canvas is a passion of mine.
A quick tour of some of the different things I make, from custom illustrations and Spotify stickers to handmade crochet items.
A rendered view from my architectural design project, exploring how people interact with built spaces and nature.
Another render from my architectural portfolio, focusing on landscape and public space design.
An interior view of one of my architectural designs, playing with light, shadow, and minimalist forms.
A workshop view of my architectural model, showing the different components before final assembly.
An overhead view of the complete architectural site model, showing the relationship between the buildings and the landscape.
About Additional Art & Design Journey
You might wonder how a crochet enthusiast also creates architectural models and charcoal sketches. It all comes from the same place: a love for structure and detail. Whether I am rendering a building for a design project or sketching a detailed portrait for a client, I approach every piece with the precision of an architect and the heart of an artist.
My design journey began with a degree in architecture, where I spent countless hours on studio floors, crafting models, studying space, and learning how to communicate ideas through lines and form. That rigorous training is exactly why my custom illustrations—from faceless portraits to animated invites—look the way they do.
Why my architectural background matters for your art
When I design a caricature or a digital invite, I am not just drawing a face or a layout. I am looking at composition, balance, and proportions.
- Attention to Detail: Architectural design taught me that even the smallest line changes the entire perspective. I apply this same focus when I recreate the embroidery on a bride's lehenga in a portrait or when I adjust the lighting on an animated invitation.
- Storytelling through Space: Architecture is about how people interact with a space. Similarly, my art is about how you interact with your memories. Whether it is a wooden miniature or a personalized wallet card, I want the piece to feel like it belongs in your home or daily life.
My tools of the trade
While I love digital tools, I always start with a pencil. I believe there is no substitute for a hand-drawn sketch to capture a real expression. You will see this 'hand-drawn' quality even in my digital work—it keeps things feeling warm and organic rather than sterile or templated.
If you are looking for a unique gift or branding that has a bit of an 'architectural' soul behind it—something built with proper structure but finished with plenty of heart—let’s chat. I am always open to custom projects that challenge me to use my drafting board in new ways.
