About Heirloom Necklaces & Sets
When I design a necklace set, I start with the weight and how it sits on your collarbone. I typically recommend 20g to 40g of 18k gold for these pieces to ensure they feel substantial enough for weddings but comfortable enough to wear at events without feeling heavy.
Creating a necklace that lasts requires more than just good design; it requires structural integrity. In my studio, I focus heavily on the 'Takhtee' style, which uses intricate lattice work and gold filigree. This technique allows me to incorporate rubies, emeralds, and pearls in a way that remains airy and wearable, rather than stiff.
I don’t just sketch for beauty. We look at the modularity of the set—often designing detachable drops so you can wear the main necklace for your wedding and the pendants separately for smaller family gatherings. I use 18k gold because it holds natural diamonds and soft stones like emeralds securely, ensuring the settings don't loosen over time.
